Using Tech to Transform Your Classroom: Unit 7 Blog 4

Technology in a classroom has changed the way we engage and challenge our students in order to reach higher order thinking skills. I found an article about how students are using Virtual Reality to gamify their classroom and practice core skills through VR.  In this article, students are using VR technology to simulate different scenarios that are often difficult to replicate due to funding or danger. In my opinion, I believe this article closely reflects how our classrooms will look in the next 20 years as a way to step up what learning is about!

The second interesting alert that I received is about how Augmented Reality is using Dr. Suess stories and content to teach and develop a fundamental alphabet and reading skills. Through AR, students become a part of the story and can physically work within the story as audio and visual learners. I chose this article because it reflects how these tools can influence a classroom learning experience while making it fun!

  1. Wow, can you imagine what it would look like to actually be in one of Dr. Seuss' books! Thanks for sharing the story about how teachers can utilize Augmented Reality in the classroom to engage students with alphabet and reading learning skills. The books already teach many skills but the addition of technology would make learning even more engaging and as you mentioned FUN! I like how you also mention that this is the way education is moving (augmented reality and VR). These pieces offer many benefits!
