Digital Storytelling: Unit 6 Blog 3 After reading through several different articles, I have found one interesting article about how Virtual Reality is changing the way we experience live music! In this article, Virtual Reality has even gone as far as replacing the actual concerts and shows with a totally virtual experience that puts others in the shoes of a performer or a regular concert-goer. I chose this article because this relates closely to digital storytelling and classroom learning in a VR setting. Seeing the capabilities only makes me more confident that VR for storytelling and basic classroom functions are just around the corner! This article can be found here ! The second interesting alert that I received is about how Augmented Reality can help improve functional vision for those that have difficulty navigating the world around them. Task-Based Language Teaching: Unit 5 Blog 2 After reading through several different articles, I have found one interesting article about DuSable is using Virtual Reality for people to see into the realities of each artifact and be engaged in what is there! In this article, the Museum used VR to put you in the shoes of someone attending Martin Luther King Jr's speech in Washington! I found this to be a great article to share because VR like this can be used as a Task-Based learning experience that helps listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills! This article can be found here !  The second interesting alert that I received is one about how individuals that are bilingual behave differently when using each language. I found this interesting because I believe it boils down to cultural differences and the way they learned each language from differing environments. I believe technology help create that environment where students can be themselves instead of morphi...

ESL and Emerging Technology: Unit 4 Blog 1 This week on my google alerts, I have learned of different ways Virtual and Augmented Reality can benefit our daily lives especially in a learning environment!  The first article I read was about an ESL teacher that is using different programs to be able to express themselves and collaborate through different projects that she is working on! One of them involves using Google Maps and the improving Augmented Reality function through Maps.  In both articles, I learned that expression does not have to be in a poster but can consist of screenshots of where their families live around the world and to be able to walk the streets as if they were there with this new technology.  The last article I found talks about how Virtual Reality is being used for others that are paralyzed or veterans of wars that are immobile. Virtual Reality allows people regardless of language or culture to go beyond the learning experience and act...
