Mobile-Assisted Language Learning: Unit 9 Blog 6

Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) is a new method that incorporates using mobile devices to enhance language learning! I found an article that unfortunately has to do with the recent COVID-19 Outbreak. I chose this article because it relates to MALL and its call for home learning and taking learning into the community. The article is about how Duval County schools are adapting their schooling so that their students are completing everything on devices at home! Aside from the spread of this virus, this movement towards mobile learning is in the near future!

The second interesting alert that I received is about how Virtual Reality is expected to grow drastically between 2020 and 2024! More recently, strategies like MALL and incorporating VR and AR technology in classrooms are growing as the cost in this tech decreases! I used this article because it shows that the demand for applying what is learned into the community through methods like MALL are growing fast. It is time to get a step ahead and begin trying to incorporate MALL into classrooms of our own!
