Mobile-Assisted Language Learning: Unit 9 Blog 6 Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) is a new method that incorporates using mobile devices to enhance language learning! I found an article that unfortunately has to do with the recent COVID-19 Outbreak. I chose this article because it relates to MALL and its call for home learning and taking learning into the community. The article is about how Duval County schools are adapting their schooling so that their students are completing everything on devices at home! Aside from the spread of this virus, this movement towards mobile learning is in the near future! This article can be found  here ! The second interesting alert that I received is about how Virtual Reality is expected to grow drastically between 2020 and 2024! English As A Lingua Franca: Unit 8 Blog 5 Lingua Franca is defined as " any of various languages used as common or commercial tongues among peoples of diverse speech". Since our learners know both languages, technology can be used to enhance the learning experience of any language and effectively help bridge the gaps in understanding across tongues. The second interesting alert that I received is about how Virtual Reality is used to help overcome social avoidance! Though this is not directly about language learners, VR poses a way for interactions (whether real or not) to test their skills and oral communication when needed! Using sound and video record...

Using Tech to Transform Your Classroom: Unit 7 Blog 4 Technology in a classroom has changed the way we engage and challenge our students in order to reach higher order thinking skills. I found an article about how students are using Virtual Reality to gamify their classroom and practice core skills through VR.  In this article, students are using VR technology to simulate different scenarios that are often difficult to replicate due to funding or danger. In my opinion, I believe this article closely reflects how our classrooms will look in the next 20 years as a way to step up what learning is about! This article can be found  here ! The second interesting alert that I received is about how Augmented Reality is using Dr. Suess stories and content to teach and develop a fundamental alphabet and reading skills. Through AR, students become a part of the story and can physically work within the story as audio and visual learners. I chose this article because it refl...
