Lingua Franca is defined as "any of various languages used as common or commercial tongues among peoples of diverse speech". Since our learners know both languages, technology can be used to enhance the learning experience of any language and effectively help bridge the gaps in understanding across tongues. I found an article on how international authors are having trouble publishing their writings in English! Through technologies that involve video and sound recording, as well as grammar/word processors, technology once again can prevent this and teach the ways of any language!

The second interesting alert that I received is about how Virtual Reality is used to help overcome social avoidance! Though this is not directly about language learners, VR poses a way for interactions (whether real or not) to test their skills and oral communication when needed! Using sound and video recording, students can interact with their virtual avatars in a fun and engaging way that they can see and reflect on how they communicate within the setting.
